I was made Most Popular Actor on public protest -- Queer story of Thumidu
It was Thumidu Dodamthenna who bagged the Most Popular Actor award from votes of the audience at the Tele's 2017 award ceremony held last night. He managed to get all those votes for his performance in the teledrama 'Koombiyo'. Incidentally 'Koombiyo' became the the Most
Popular Teledrama too. It would enter the Best Teledrama competition next year.On the instance he was awarded the Most Popular Actor award, the lady announcer posed a question to him requesting him to express his ideas and at that moment he made a queer comment. "This system is very upset. What is portrayed by this award is about the protest symbolically relating to this upset and which needs be solved and a system which cannot be recovered that has been selected as the popular award".
