Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi has said that his Government is prepared to provide maximum facilities for Pakistani investors to invest in Sri Lanka.
The Pakistani Minister gave this assurance during a meeting with Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Mr. Jatoi said that he would encourage Pakistani investors to invest in sectors such as sugar and pharmaceutical production and the steel industry.
Minister Rajapaksa said that after routing terrorism which plagued the country for 30 years, the Sri Lankan Government was able to hold the Commonwealth Summit successfully. He emphasized that there are many investment opportunities in Sri Lanka and that the Government was frequently prepared to accord all facilities needed by the investors.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Qasim Qureshi and Additional Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development Priyantha Mayadunne joined in this meeting.
