Milk powder storage facilities and go-downs should be registered with the Consumer Affairs Authority.
The Ministry of Cooperatives and Internal Trade had emphasized that this law will be enforced with effect from tomorrow, January first.
It is prohibited from stocking milk powder packets at Storage facilities, go-downs or any other similar locations which are not registered with the Consumer Affairs Authority.
This law is enforced from tomorrow, January first, in accordance with the 42-21 Gazette Notification No: 18 issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority. Minister Johnston Fernando has asserted that accordingly the Consumer Affairs Authority is vested with the power of examining milk powder storage facilities at any time.
