The 94th Anniversary celebrations of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress was held in Anuradhapura today.
The All Ceylon Buddhist Congress 94th anniversary and 87th general meeting will be held on January 10 and 11 at the North Central Provincial Council auditorium in Anuradhapura. Chief Incumbent of the Ruwanweliseya Temple the Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thera presided at the 87th anniversary celebrations. This is the first time in 55 years that the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress held its anniversary celebration outside Colombo.
Members of the Maha Sangha, North Central Governor Karunaratne Divulgane, Chief Minister S.M. Herath, Chairman of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Jagath Sumathipala and a large gathering joined in the occasion.
