The Sri Lanka Ports Authority has recorded the highest ever container handling during last year.
The total transshipment volume handled by the Ports Authority last year in comparison to 2012 was 12.3 percent. Also the Ports Authority has shown a 1.8 percent growth in domestic operations in 2013 in comparison to the year 2012. Accordingly the Ports Authority has announced that the total number of containers handled during last year exceeded 2.5 million.
The Jaya Container Terminal of the Authority recorded 9884 TEU operations which was its highest ever operations within a day on 02nd November 2013.
