President instructs officials to complete all Deyata Kirula projects in time

The President has instructed officials to complete all development projects launched on the sidelines of Deyata Kirula in time and in conformity to proper standards.


A special discussion on the future activities of the 2014 Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition was held at Temple Trees this morning. It was presided by President Rajapaksa. The Deyata Kirula Ntional Development Exhibition is part of the country’s development programme. As such the President underscored that it was the obligation of everyone to plan this work so that the posterity could reap its benefits.

The Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition is slated to be held in parallel to the Independence Day celebrations in Kuliyapitiya. The exhibition will be held centering the Wayamba University premises, the Kuliyapitiya Central College and the Kuliyapitiya Technical College premises spanning 162 acres.

Massive development projects are being launched covering the Kurunegala, Puttalam and Kegalle Districts. The meeting discussed at length the constructions carried out under these development projects. An auditorium with a seating capacity of about 1000 which could be used for the benefit of students of the Wayamba University is under construction and the expenditure to be incurred is 250 million rupees. Also a Nanotechnology Laboratory is being constructed at a cost of 29 million rupees. A Physical Fitness Centre will be established at the Indoor Stadium which has a space of 28,850 square feet. It will incur an expenditure of 250 million rupees.

A Students Centre is also coming up at a cost of 70 million rupees. A new auditorium as well as a two storied Library is under construction at the Kuliyapitiya Central College in parallel to the Deyata Kirula National Exhibition.
