Southern Provincial Council United National Party member Krishantha Pushpakumara has said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party headed by President Rajapaksa is the only Party that can do some work for the country and the people. He made this comment receiving membership of the SLFP from the President.
The Southern Province United National Party member Krishantha Pushpakumara met President Rajapaksa at the President’s House this morning and secured membership of the SLFP. Expressing views thereafter, Mr. Pushpakumara said that the President was rendering an outstanding service to the country and the people. He claimed that no such leader had existed in the country.
He said that the UNP is now bankrupt. It is not strong enough. The leaders have different programmes. The party’s programme is slinging mud at politicians. The people are now aware of the truth. The nation can clearly see the development taking place in the country. As such he called on the nation to join hands with the President and him. He also called on the UNP supporters who voted for him to join him.
