President Rajapaksa joins in the Thurstan Past Pupils meet.
President Rajapaksa joined this morning in the function organized by the Past Pupils Association of Thurstan College Colombo marking the 64th Anniversary of its journey.
The President participated in this occasion as a past pupil of the College. The President declared open the Basketball Court of the College.
Thurstan College was launched in the year 1950. It played a prominent role in moulding a number of scholars beneficial to the country. Thurstan College has succeeded in grooming many greats including President Rajapaksa who is discharging an outstanding service to the country and the nation in the Sri Lankan political history as well as several others who are rendering a notable service in the fields of education, law, administration, defence, engineering and science.
Addressing the brief function, President Rajapaksa said that as a past pupil, he is extremely proud over the present achievements of Thurstan College.
The President told the gathering that they should be proud of the school. Whatever was said or done they should be proud enough to say that they are students of Thurstan College. He was glad that the College was improving all sports.
Past pupils of the college attended this function in their school uniforms and the President exchanged pleasantries with them. School Principal A.D.M.D. Bandara as well as past Principals, Deputy Principals, the staff and parents were also present.
