Programmes mooted to upgrade the health facilities of the resettled families in the North will be further expanded.
The programmes launched to improve the health facilities of the families resettled in the North are being expanded on the instructions of the President. The Health Ministry is constructing a new Hospital at Bogaswewa in Vavuniya with the intention of providing a full health service to the people of the areas. It is expected to cost 27 million rupees. 2150 families will benefit from this Hospital.
The construction work on the Hospital commenced with the participation of Northern Governor G.A. Chandrasiri. Wanni Commander in Chief Major General Boniface Perera and Commander of the 56 Brigade Brig. Raj Ranawaka were among those present on the occasion.
