The Australian Government has given ICU beds and medical equipment for use in Sri Lankan Hospitals.
The donation worth fifty million rupees has been made under the Australian Government’s Special Health Assistance Programme. The handing over of the beds and the medical equipment at the Health Ministry took place under the patronage of Minister Maithripala Sirisena. Among those present on the occasion was Director of the Medical Supplies Division Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe.
Expressing his views on the occasion, the Health Minister said that it had been possible to reduce the expenditure on the physical resources needed by hospitals due to the high contributions made by certain parties.
