President Mahinda Rajapaksa vested in public this morning the Palavi – Kalpitiya road which was broadened and developed to coincide with the Deyata Kirula National Development Programme. The Government has spent over two billion million rupees to develop the road. Norochcholei and Kalpitiya cities will also be developed. Addressing the public rally the President said that he would never breach the confidence the people have placed in him.

The President said that they could not find such a crowd at Norochcholei earlier. He said that he was happy to note that they not only grow vegetables but export fruits to other countries. Your economy has grown and this road which has been broadened will provide you with more facilities. He said that the Government has implemented mega development projects in the country. Colour of the parties were not considered when providing facilities for the people. Development was spread out equally throughout the island. The opposition has nothing to say now and therefore they engaged in mudslinging. The opposition devalue the services rendered for the benefit of the public. The nation should be built on unity. The President requested everyone to join in this regard.

The massive crowd at the rally warmly showed their gratitude to the President. A large gathering of people including Ministers, parliamentarians, diplomats and officials were present on the occasion.
