The Sri Lankan High Commission in India said that two persons who sustained injuries due to a bus accident have been hospitalized. The bus was carrying a group of Sri Lankan pilgrims on an Expressway in India.
Minister at the Sri Lankan High Commission Kapila Fonseka said that the others are proceeding on their pilgrimage as usual.
Mr. Kapila Fonseka said that the bus was plying from New Delhi to Agra. Several were injured in this accident and admitted to a nearby private hospital. By now, many had been discharged and are proceeding on their pilgrimage. Two who were seriously injured are still at the hospital. However, their condition is not critical.
Officials of the Consular Division of the High Commission visited the hospital and extended whatever support they needed. He added that they would continue to help them until they return home.
