Postal voting in the Western and Southern Provincial polls progressed peacefully.
Additional Elections Commissioner R.M.A.L. Ratnayake said that those who were not able to vote yesterday and today will be given an opportunity of doing so on the 20th of this month.
The Additional Elections Commissioner said that marking of postal votes took place yesterday and today at many Government Offices. Arrangements were made to transfer the balance ballot papers to the Election Offices in the Districts. Mr. Ratnayake said those who experienced difficulties in casting the postal vote on these two stipulated dates, will be given another opportunity to do so on the 20th of this month. However, he said that the employees will have to visit the Elections Office in the District in which they are serving to cast the postal vote.
