The Supreme Court orders the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to sell the private property of Directors of the Golden Key depositors and repay the funds of the depositors.
The Supreme Court gave this order after taking into consideration a petition filed by Golden Key depositors who were deprived of their deposits.
The State Counsel who made submissions when the petition was taken up for hearing yesterday also submitted a detailed report on the private property of the Directors of the Golden Key Company. He requested the Court to grant permission to sell this property and repay the funds of depositors. Accepting this request, the Supreme Court judge Bench headed by Chief Justice Mohan Peiris granted permission to sell the related property and repay the funds.
