The autopsies of three tiger leaders including Gobi who attempted to revive the LTTE have been held in Anuradhapura.
These tiger leaders had attempted to flee during a search operation carried out the Army within the Nedunkerni forest in Kilinochchi. The Army said that they were killed during an ensuing gun fire. It has been identified that Gobi who is considered to be the new leader of the tiger outfit and two of its active members Thevian and Appan had been killed in this gun fire exchange.
Their bodies were brought to the Anuradhapura General Hospital for the conduct of the post mortems. The autopsies were carried out this afternoon. Close relatives of the dead tiger cadres were present on the occasion.
