Relief is being granted to cultivators impacted by the drought in the Anuradhapura District.
Cultivations of farmers during the last Maha Season were destroyed due to lack of rain. Drawing his attention to the helpless situation faced by the farmers, Minister Tissa Karaliyadda apprised President Rajapaksa of the situation.
Accordingly a ration comprising essential commodities were distributed among them on the instructions of the President. The distribution of the rations among 4624 families within the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat Division and 2898 families within the Kebethigollewa Divisional Secretariat Division took place under the auspices of Minister Tissa Karaliyadda.
