Claiming that it is of no value the leader engaging in a study tour of the United States, plans are afoot by a group of UNP Parliamentarians to visit Hambantota and see for themselves how a country is being developed.
United National Party Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe is at present touring the United States. According to UNP sources he is engaged in a study tour. However, a group of UNP Parliamentarians has queried as to how a person can study in ruling a country by visiting the United States without doing within the country, is planning to visit the South to witness the miracles of development.
Sources emanating from the UNP have consolidated that a group of Parliamentarians headed by Colombo District MP Ravi Karunanayake is finalizing arrangements for this tour. The observation locations of the Opposition Parliamentarians are reported to be the Mattala International Airport, the Hambantota Harbour, the International Conference Hall built in Hambantota and also the Southern Expressway.
The UNP Parliamentarians have emphasized that knowledge on the proper mode of ruling a country can be gained through a proper study of the development of the village and the accolades earned by President Rajapaksa after ending the war.
They declared that the Opposition Leader should study the massive revolution done by the President from Medamulana rather than engaging in a tour of the United States to study on how a country can be ruled.\
