A new programme is being planned to find immediate solutions of health issues of the estate community. The Health Ministry has made arrangements to undertake this immediate programme of addressing health problems of the people living in affiliation to estates. Several programmes are already being implemented while mobile medical clinics are also being held in parallel to these programmes. Such a mobile service with the participation of 40 doctors of the Medical Faculty of the Colombo University was held at the Tamil Maha Vidyalaya in Kahawatte. The Past Pupils Association of the School and the Kahawatte Plantations Company support the event.
