The release of baby sea turtles to the sea took place at the Sea Turtles Conservation Project premises at Bentota yesterday. The President who was on a visit to Bentota joined in the release of sea turtle hatchlings according to an invitation extended to him.
After joining in the release of the baby sea turtles to the sea, the President also seized the opportunity of exchanging pleasantries with the people who gathered there.
Managing Director of the Sea Turtle Conservation Research Project in Bentota Jagath Kannangara said that the programme of releasing sea turtles hatchlings to the sea was carried out wishing long life to the President, the tri forces and the entire nation.
