Conspirators should not be allowed to destroy the hard won freedom.
The President issuing a special message has requested the people to work with responsibility and patiently to protect friendship between the communities and the pride of the nation. The President said that it was clear that there are attempts to endanger Sri Lanka’s peace and reconciliation which gradually strengthened following the eradication of LTTE’s racism and separatism. The foreign elements which tried to destabilize Sri Lanka is attempting to further complicate the situation. He has requested the people to understand the situation and to work towards friendship and co-existence. Security forces and \Police have been ordered to take stern action against anyone who tries to take the law into their hands. All security officers should take measures against anyone who attempts to create animosity between communities and religion. We all should aim to create the new Sri Lankan nation by uniting all religions and communities in the motherland. The culture that tolerate others opinion and that honor another ones opinion should be created to achieve this aim. Violence is a symbol of the barbaric era. A proud nation could be built by not assaulting others but by honoring them. The President has requested to join hands as brethren as mentioned in the National Anthem, without being divided as Sinhala, Muslim and Tamil.
