All communities should commit themselves for peace and unity.
Religious leaders emphasize that the reputation of the motherland should not be damaged by being misled as a result of conspiracies. They mentioned this during a meeting in Dehiwala. Venerable Walpola Piyananda thera said that if there were problems in the country the country, foreign elements would try to take advantage of that. They enter the county in various ways and create tensions. Therefore we have to be very careful. If we all work as Sri Lankans there will not be any problems. Reverend Father E. Muthukuda arachchi pointed out that all of us belong to the same human family. The future generations have to undergo the repercussions of what we do today. He said that we have to take the responsibility for what we say and do today. Vegadeshwara Sharma Kurukkal said that hatred will be created in the mind, if we do not forget incidents in the past. Therefore we should look into what should be done and resolve problems amicably. Hirud Ishbani Moulavee said that we expect peace, co-existence and brotherhood. He requested everyone to join to protect Sri Lanka. He added that we should be united and national solidarity should be taken forward.
