Minister Basil Rajapaksa has disclosed that 60 percent
of the garments available in the local market are foreign products. The Minister mentioned this while attending a ceremony to inaugurate Sri Lanka Brand Association formed with the aim of entering international garment market. The main aim of Sri Lanka Garments Brand Association is to promote local garments brand locally and internationally. The Association has about 100 members. Minister Rajapaksa unveiled the official website of the association. The keynote address was delivered by Ministry Secretary Anura Siriwardena. Parliamentarians Duminda Silva and Anoma Gamage were present on the occasion.
