How Mahela Jayawardena bade farewell (photos and video) Former Test Captain Mahela Jayawardena bade farewell to his Test career today in the presence of a large number of cricketing fans and the Hon. President as well.
He was able to contribute a half-century for the last match in which he took part and it was special that Sri Lanka was able to win that match.
At the end of today's match while the other players carried him around amidst great applause, he later made a speech for the spectators and thanked everybody.
It is a special occasion also because Mahela's wife Cristina together with the newly-born daughter Sansa Aarya joined him at this time.
