Postal voting applications from July 3rd onwards
The elections commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya had announced to all government servants that for
the general election announced all who heed to vote via postal voting should make applications between the 03rd and 14th July for the forthcoming general election.The elections commissioner had also added that nomination papers for the this election would be received between the 06th and the 13th of July. He also had stressed that the voters registered in the 2014 electoral list would be eligible for voting.
The elections commissioner had urged the government authorities not to affect any transfers to government servants and police personnel with effect from the 06th July. At the same time all such transfers if had been given are also to be treated as cancelled.
