A SPECIAL STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT ON MONDAY
It is reported that the President Maithripala Sirisena is supposed to make a special statement on Monday the 13th
explaining the facts about his decision and about the changes inside the party after Mahinda Rajapaksa and his loyalist members joined UPFA.The nomination for a new party “Eksath Yahapalana Peramuna” also under the symbol of “elephant” will be given by Saturday or Sunday after the approval and permission from the Central Committee of the United National Party. Majority of the new party are the members who moved out from SLFP with Maithripala Sirisena in the run up to the presidential election and those who got ministerial positions recently.
