For spending on domestic inland flights a sum of Rupees1500 lakhs of state money had been spent by the former Minister of economic affairs Basil Rajapaksa and Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa during the period of the past regime. In this connection they are to be questioned by the Presidential
commission into the acts of massive frauds and corruption during the next two weeks.This amount is only for internal flights only it has been said by the presidential commission..
It is reported that Basil Rajapaksa had incurred an expense of rupees 1052 lakhs for internal flights during the last two years of the former government. Most of these internal flights had been taken during the time of the presidential election.
Namal Rajapaksa according to the investigations carried out by the presidential commission had made internal flights to the tune of rupees 500 lakhs.
Reports from the office of the presidential commission has revealed that Basil Rajapksa and Namal Rajapaksa would be questioned in the coming two weeks on these state funds misused by them
