The equivalent of an American dollar shots up to Rs 150/-
The equivalent of an American dollar had shot up to Rs 150/- yesterday.This is the highest amount an American dollar had fetched in the
annals of the history in the country.In terms of the exchange rates released by the related authorities of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka the selling value of a American dollar stood at Rs 150/54.
In the recent past the value of the rupee has depreciated gradually. On the 28th instant the selling rate of a American dollar stood over Rs 148/..the exact value being Rs 148/91.While on the 29th it was further increased to to Rs 149/54.
The reason for this increase is due to the fact that Sri Lanka receives a fewer amount of dollars for all transactions. Hence the American dollar goes up equivalent to the rupee.
