Only Jaffna toddy in the North
A resolution has been passed in the northern provincial council to ban the transportation and marketing of bottle toddy from the south.This proposal has been made by the minister of agriculture P.Ainkaranesan.It had been seconded by the other ministers in the northern provincial
council.The proposal has been made as the bottled toddy that is transported to the north has been a hindrance to the toddy tapping industry in the north
It is also reported that the natural toddy in northern province is sufficient to the consumption of the people in the north and hence there is no necessity for the bottled toddy from the south.
In this regard the assistance of the excise department would be obtained to stop this bottled toddy been sent to the north from the south.
