An angry  group of cricket fans who  were unable to enter the Rangiri Dambulu International cricket stadium to see the 4th One Day International on the 31st instant had hurled  stones and other objects at the Police officers.It is reported that the Superintendent of Police in charge of the Matale division

The incident had occurred between 4,00 and 5.00 pm yesterday.The Superintendent of Police Matalae division IBT Sugathapala,The Officer in Charge of administration  Kandy police station Chief Inspector GW Edirisinghe, and several Inspectors of Police and Sub Inspectors of Police have sustained injuries.

It is reported a\that thousands of fans who were unable to enter the grounds had blocked the Dambulla-Kurunegala main road and behaved in an unruly manner.When the Police authorities deployed had tried to  calm them they had tried to damage vehicles and to public property. This was what was confessed by a Police officer.

In the previous One Day International too those who could not enter the stadium had behaved in an unruly manner.Hence for this match the police officers had been strengthened on the instructions of the  Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Central province  Mahinda Ekanayake.

It is also reported that the Police officers who sustained serious injuries had been transfered to the Kandy general hospital.

It is reported that a  sick wild elephant had collapsed and fallen down on the 30th instant had been located on a gravel road on the afternoon of the 30th instant inGalgamuwa -Kallanchiya Ankendawa area.It is suspected that

An incident of a   desperate lover who had met a 13 years and 05 month old teenager on the streets of Mawanella on the pretext of taking her to see a carnival had taken to a guest house in Ussapitiya area had got her drunk and raped her.Afterwards  he had deserted her at the
carnival premises has been reported.Afterwards she had been raped by several others and  admitted to the Mawanella hospital has been reported at the Aranayake police station.

The young girl is a resident of Moraammana area is supposed to be known as an addict of alcohol  from the year 2015..In this context  she had been subjected to rape by 11 youngsters had raped under the influence of alcohol.hese facts have been revealed by the police on investigations. According to information obtained from her 6 persons have been rounded up and arrested by the police and were to be produced before the district Magistrate of Mawanella on the 31st instant.
