Seventh of December has been declared as a special day for issuing National Identity Cards for students who sit the GCE (O) Level examination.
The GCE (O) Level Examination is scheduled for the 10th of December. National Identity Cards are being continuously issued for them. Commissioner of Registration of Persons R.M.S. Sarath Kumara said that 400,000 IDs have already been issued. The Commissioner said that IDs will be issued to the remaining students in the coming days. 7th December will be treated as a special day for the issuance of Identity Cards. Commissioner General of Examinations M.N.J. Pushpakumara said that the highest number of students is sitting the examination this year.
