The Education Minister has said that the conduct of special classes and seminars for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination is banned from midnight tomorrow. Minister Bandula Gunawardena pointed out that this ban will be effective until the end of the Ordinary Level Examination this month.
In a special statement to ITN, the Minister said that according to powers vested in him as the Education Minister under the Examinations Act No: 25 of 1968, a gazette Notification has been issued. Discussions, seminars, workshops, lectures, teachings related to the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination are barred. This is effective from midnight tomorrow until the midnight on the 20th of this month, during the period of the Ordinary Level Examination.
He mentioned that this initiative has been taken for the benefit of the children to avert a burden placed on their mindset.
