Conspiracy in place to exploit Baduraliya Hospital incident for political mileage – SSP Ajith Rohana
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana has said that the Police are ready to provide the necessary security to the Baduraliya Hospital at any time. Only the destitute patients are inconvenienced by the closure of the Hospital. SSP Ajith Rohana mentioned that they cannot endorse attempts made by certain elements attempting to exploit the incident to achieve parochial political aims.
The Police Media Spokesman mentioned that a strike is underway at the Baduraliya Hospital for several days. As a result patients in the area are rendered destitute. But a Parliamentarian representing the area launched a fast yesterday. When a group supporting him was obstructing the road, the Police received several calls on contact number 119 that there were obstructions to movement of traffic at Baduraliya.
Accordingly, SSP Ajith Rohana said that action was initiated to evacuate the protesters. The Police will strictly enforcing the law if anyone is protesting obstructing the movement of traffic and inconveniencing the public. Also Medical Associations have also informed that if security was being provided, the doctors are ready to reopen the Hospital.
The Police Media Spokesman underscored that the Police are ready to provide maximum security if the Hospital was reopened. He made an appeal to all parties concerned to reopen the Hospital.
