A Japanese cultural festival to commemorate all those who were killed in the tsunami has been held in Unawatuna.
The cultural festival held for the ninth occasion was organized by Huiroshan Japanese Language School under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent of the Japan Peace Chaithya the Ven. Asami Thera of Japan. A procession with the participation of Environment Pilots of Southland College Galle and the students of the Hiroshan Japan Language School was also organized.
The Cultural Festival commenced after the conduct of religious observances. The purpose of the Cultural Festival was to impart knowledge on Japan’s culture to Sri Lankan children studying the Japanese Language. Spectacles and plants were distributed on the sidelines of the event.
