The Asian Development Bank has pointed out that the development process in Sri Lanka is taking place perfectly.
A meeting between Minister Basil Rajapaksa and the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Venkal Shang took place at the Economic Development Ministry today. The ADB Deputy President during this meeting lauded the progress achieved by Sri Lanka within a short period.
Infrastructure development, planning and development of urban and rural areas, reducing unemployment, generation of jobs, development of transport and the road network and health were among the several fields which were discussed at this meeting. The ADB Vice President noted that Sri Lanka had properly utilized the grants provided by them.
Sri Lanka had taken the proper measures to utilize with proper management the labour required by the country to impart vocational training to the youth labour force. Applauding these initiatives, the ADB Vice President mentioned that they desired to grant further assistance to Sri Lanka.
