Japan’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Nobohitho Hobo has lauded the contribution made by Sri Lanka to speed up development in Asia. He said that this is clearly proven from the progress achieved by the island nation in the last few years.
The Japanese Ambassador said that the Asian Zone was achieving a speedy economic growth in the world. He said that the contribution made by Sri Lanka to this speedy development in Asia is commendable. Sri Lanka is traversing on a clear path achieving sustainable development after ending terrorism.
This is very clear from the 6.8 economic growth achieved by Sri Lanka within the last few years. The income earned from exports is also at a satisfactory level. The Japanese diplomat added that Sri Lanka achieved an array of economic benefits by holding the Commonwealth Summit.
The Japanese Ambassador was addressing the Annual conference of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in Colombo. The appointment of new officials to the Chamber of Commerce also took place on this occasion.
