Sri Lankans taking up foreign jobs will be provided medical certificates at reasonable rates with effect from today.
A Special Medical Centre at Narahenpita was opened today for the provision of medical certificates to migrant works. The new Centre is equipped with all facilities that could provide a more streamlined and efficient service. Services of Government registered doctors are available at this Centre.
Hitherto Medical Reports to migrant workers were provided by Private Medical Centres. Many problems including the provision of fake medical certificates and the levying of exorbitant fees surfaced in this process. This new Medical Centre has been established as a solution to these problems.
