All schools in the Western and Southern Provinces will be kept closed on the 28th of this month in view of the polls to these two Provincial Councils.
Polls will be held on 29th Saturday. The schools in the Western and Southern Provinces will be closed on the 28th as some schools are being used as polling booths and the education staff being engaged on election duty.
Royal College, Isipathana and D.S. Senanayake College which are being used as vote counting centres in the Colombo District will be kept closed on the 27th and 28th. The Education Ministry announced that the Siyane Education College in the Gampaha District which will be used as a vote counting centre will be closed from the 24th of this month to the 02nd of April.
The Suchi National School in the Hambantota District which is being used as a counting centre will also be kept closed from the 26th to the 28th of this month. The Education Ministry further announced that the Haapitigama National College of Education will also be kept closed from the 27th to the 30th of this month.
