The Consumer Affairs Authority has seized the jelly packets from a factory at Batawala in Mawanella. They have first detected the jelly packets from a shop in Galle. The Consumer Affairs Authority said that 60 thousand jelly packets were seized from the same company several days ago. Officials disclosed that they had altered the expiry dates of the packets. Minister Johnston Fernando has directed the officials to take legal action against the traders who sell such products specially consumed by children.
