Colonel shoots wife on the stomach?
A person had fired gun shots at the wife of an Army Colonel who had been living in a two-storied house in Isurupura area, Pitugala, Malabe and had beat a retreat after that, Athurugiriya Police say. This shooting has taken place around 10 in the night day-
before-yesterday and the victim who sustained serious injuries has been admitted to Talangama Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. One gun shot had struck her stomach region and another had struck her arm.The victim is a 43 year old mother of 3 children and she had filed action for a divorce from him and the case is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on the first week of next month. This incident is supposed to have taken place in connection with a family dispute and the victim's children have said that the individual who was involved in the shooting resembles their father's features. The said lady was shot at when she was inside the bedroom, it is reported. It is also reported that the victim is someone who is employed at Nelum Pokuna, Colombo.
