To resolve a husband wife conflict "potato curry" to courts
A husband who had claimed that his wife had given him a parcel of food contaminated with poison had complained to the police with the suspicious parcel of food.
The police authorities had produced the parcel of food
said to be a potato curry.The Chief Magistrate of the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate courts Dammika Dissanayake had identified this parcel of food to me a potato curry.The Chief Magistrate had ordered the parcel of potato curry to produced the government analyst to investigate and submit a report.It is reported that the husband 45 years old from Kandayaya area was having an illicit love affair and hence there had been constant quarrels between the two.
It had all started a few days ago when the wife had ordered string hoppers from a neighbouring house.A neighbour had seen some powder like matter been added to the potato curry.When the husband was informed he had felt suspicious and compalined to the Dummalasuriya police.
The officials of the Dummalasuriya police had produced the suspect and the parcel of potato curry to courts.
The OIC of the Dummalsuriya police Sub Inspector Jayaweera, Sub Inspector Kapila Silva and Police constable Rohan (53314) have taken steps to explain matters to the courts.
