President Maithripala Sirisena has launched a Project for the generation of electricity from garbage with the intention of finding a solution to the garbage issue in the Western Province. Parallel to the project, the Karadiyana Resource Management Project was named as the Mihisaru Viyamana Resources Management Centre, to streamline the solid waste management in Colombo.
