Member DV Chanaka although is qualified to get a labour job
Participating in a ceremony in Suriyawewa the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had this to say:-
" When the young society of occupation recipients had come to express gratitude to former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa what came to mind was the manner how a minister 'Hamu' who had offered jobs to youth while positioned under a tree..I was wondering what was happening under a tree instead of
going indoors.The Minister "Hamu'had been sporting a pair of sun glasses also and were giving job opportunities to graduates.Those who were tall were given security jobs.This is how the members you selected are giving jobs.In the manner these jobs are given if member DV Chanaka went seeking a job he would have received a labour job.Hence educated youth have no place but only the height was essential criteria for a job.So this is the way the jobs are given now.The people should not be disgraced in this manner I tell Sajith Premadasa. Do not take the people for a joke."
