Wimal too alleged to have given wrong birthdates in birth certificates!
The court case relating to Wimal Weeravansha's wife regarding fraudulent documents is presently being heard. Sashi Weeravansha is not to attend the case. But the CID
who found out information about this conveyed the information to the magistrate forwarding a number of matters suspected to be fraudulent activities alleged to have been committed by Sashi Weeravansha. One such point was the national identity card No. 675320233 secured under the name Sirja Udayangani by Weeravansha's wife and national identity card no. 715344696 taken under the name Sehasha Udayangani which have been used to apply for loans separately from a number of banks. On the other hand the CID stated that because of the difference in the birthdates quoted in the birth certificates of the children it exposes that Wimal Weeravansa too has changed his birthdate. Wimal had been born on the date 07.03.1965 and later it had been changed to 07.03.1970 and though his wife Sashi's true date of birth happens to be 01.02.1967, it has been altered to 03.02.1971. The police thus informed courts that Weeravansha had become younger by 5 years while his wife had become younger by 4 years.
